Meet Your Bradenton Retina Specialist
Dr. Shaminder S. Bhullar is a board-certified ophthalmologist and fellowship-trained retina specialist committed to providing advanced retinal care with compassion and respect.
Dr. Bhullar received his medical degree from the Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine. He completed his ophthalmology training at the Krieger Eye Institute at Sinai Hospital of Baltimore and his vitreoretinal fellowship at the University of Florida in Gainesville.
His approach combines advanced diagnostic technology, individualized treatment, and clear patient education. Dr. Bhullar works with each patient to explain their condition and recommend a treatment plan based on their specific retinal health needs.
What to Expect at Your Retina Appointment
What happens during your appointment will depend on why you are visiting, your symptoms, your medical history, and whether additional retinal testing is needed.
Your visit may include a review of your medical and vision history, an eye examination, dilation, and retinal imaging. After evaluating your eyes, Dr. Bhullar will discuss his findings and explain whether treatment, additional testing, or continued monitoring is recommended.
New patients should bring:
- A photo ID
- Current insurance information
- A list of medications
- Relevant eye or medical records, if available
- Any questions or concerns they want to discuss
Because dilation may temporarily cause light sensitivity or blurred vision, ask our team when scheduling whether you should consider arranging transportation.
Sudden Changes in Your Vision Should Not Be Ignored
Sudden flashes of light, a significant increase in floaters, a dark curtain or shadow across your vision, or sudden vision loss may indicate a serious retinal problem requiring immediate evaluation.
Call Retina Treatment Center promptly at 941-251-4930 if you experience sudden or concerning vision changes. If the office is closed or you cannot reach an eye-care professional, seek immediate emergency medical attention.
