What Our Patients Are Say

Specialized Retinal Care in Sarasota

Diseases of the retina can affect reading, driving, recognizing faces, and other activities that depend on clear central or peripheral vision. Some conditions progress gradually with few noticeable symptoms, while others can cause sudden and significant changes.

At our Sarasota retina clinic, Dr. Bhullar uses advanced diagnostic technology to examine the retina, identify changes, and monitor a patient’s condition over time. Treatment recommendations are based on the diagnosis, severity of the condition, medical history, and individual vision needs.

All retinal services and treatments listed by Retina Treatment Center are available through the Sarasota office. Patients can receive both initial evaluations and continued care for chronic retinal conditions without traveling outside the Sarasota area for routine office-based treatment.

Retinal Testing Available at Our Sarasota Office

Detailed imaging allows Dr. Bhullar to examine retinal structures that cannot be fully evaluated through vision testing alone.

Our Sarasota clinic offers advanced retinal testing and imaging, which may include:

These tests help identify retinal changes, guide treatment decisions, and document how a condition responds to care over time.

Meet Dr. Shaminder S. Bhullar

Dr. Shaminder S. Bhullar is a board-certified ophthalmologist and fellowship-trained retina specialist serving patients throughout Sarasota and the surrounding Gulf Coast communities.

He earned his medical degree from the Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine. Dr. Bhullar completed his ophthalmology training at the Krieger Eye Institute at Sinai Hospital of Baltimore, followed by a vitreoretinal fellowship at the University of Florida in Gainesville.

Dr. Bhullar combines specialized retinal training with a patient-centered approach. He takes time to explain examination findings, discuss available options, and develop a plan suited to each patient’s retinal condition and overall health.

Preparing for Your Sarasota Retina Appointment

Each appointment is different. The examination and testing performed will depend on your symptoms, diagnosis, previous treatment, and reason for visiting the office.

A visit may involve dilation, retinal imaging, or additional diagnostic testing. Once the evaluation is complete, Dr. Bhullar will review the findings and explain whether treatment or follow-up care is recommended.

New patients should bring:

Dilation can temporarily cause blurred vision and sensitivity to light. When scheduling your appointment, ask our staff whether arranging transportation may be helpful.

When Sudden Vision Symptoms Require Prompt Attention

New flashes of light, a sudden increase in floaters, a dark curtain or shadow in your vision, or sudden vision loss can be associated with a serious retinal problem.

Do not wait for a routine appointment if you experience these symptoms. Call Retina Treatment Center promptly at 941-251-4930 for guidance. If you cannot reach the office or an eye-care professional, seek immediate emergency medical attention.
